Culture, Context, and Connection

This space holds my reflections on identity, belonging, and the deeper layers of culturally responsive teaching. Whether it’s a story from a classroom, or a reminder to see every child as whole and worthy, this is where I explore what it really means to teach with context in mind.

Fawohodie - An Adinkra symbol that means  freedom, emancipation, and independence.  In this space, I extend its meaning to include the freedom to teach and learn in ways that honor identity, lived experience, and relationship. Teaching with culture and context is an act of liberation, and so is building authentic connections. When children feel seen, understood, and truly connected, they are free to learn without loosing who they are.
