Abura Ambassadors

Meet the Abura Ambassadors

The Abura Ambassadors are 14 vibrant student characters, each named after a traditional Ghanaian day name—7 boys and 7 girls, representing every day of the week. These ambassadors are more than just storybook characters—they are role models, guides, and companions for young learners in I-CRT classrooms. Each Abura Ambassador embodies unique personality traits rooted in cultural meaning and social-emotional learning (SEL). They reflect the everyday joys, challenges, and strengths of childhood—giving students a chance to see themselves in others, and others in themselves.

In the I-CRT classroom, the Abura Ambassadors help children:

  • Understand and practice SEL skills like kindness, resilience, responsibility, and reflection

  • Connect emotionally and culturally through stories, affirmations, and shared experiences

  • Explore academic concepts in literacy, numeracy, character education, and creative thinking

  • Celebrate their identity while learning about others in a respectful, inclusive way

These ambassadors appear throughout books, SEL lessons, and visual materials to bring I-CRT to life for students ages 4–8. Whether modeling conflict resolution, guiding a classroom affirmation, or helping explain a thinking strategy, the Abura Ambassadors make learning more relatable, joyful, and personal.
